Around Africa Safaris

Around Africa Safaris is a small safari business that specialises in tailor made safaris to Uganda and Tanzania. The owners, Clint Schipper and Kati Regan, feel that a safari should be a personal and unique experience, as new and exciting as the first safaris. This is one of the reasons that all safaris are led by Clint personally.

Clint has had a life long fascination with natural history. He is a member of several wildlife clubs in his native home of Australia and a member of the Wildlife Club of Uganda and the East African Wildlife Society. Before leaving Australia, Clint successfully gained his Zoology Degree with Honours at La Trobe University, Melbourne. He then worked for the Flora and Fauna Department, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Victoria. In addition, he was the ornithologist on a biological expedition to Papua New Guinea. Clint has published a number of papers in internationally recognized scientific journals.

In East Africa since 2000, Clint has worked as a volunteer, work shop facilitator, Fishing Guide, Safari Guide and Lodge Manager. The experience he has gained working with wildlife and people of the region only heightens his interest and love of the East African environment.

Clint's academic-zoological grounding combined with his keen interest in the natural environment around him; his keen eye for game and birds; and his understanding of the people and customs of the region mean that your safari will be an all encompassing experience.

Kati involves herself with the behind the scenes administrative duties of Around Africa Safaris. Her youth and family development experience in Uganda and in the USA complements Clint's conservation interests. Kati finds the partnership between conservation and the people of East Africa to be the most exciting part of a safari. She supports Clint in the marketing, sales, and logistics of the business.
