Why Tanzania?
What image of Africa is more familiar than that of the wildebeest migration? Visit the famous Serengeti National Park, home of the migration. Travel to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most famous names associated with African Wildlife. Come and take in the 360 degree view from the rim of the caldera before dropping into the wildlife rich floor amongst the wildebeest, zebra and gazelles. You may even spot the occasional rhino!
Not just the Serengeti
Ruaha National Park is more isolated than the better known Serengeti or Ngorongoro Crater, but well worth a visit. It is Tanzania's second largest Park and is home to massive numbers of elephant and many antelope species including lesser and greater kudu, roan and sable.
Jane Goodall and Chimpanzees
Of course, Tanzania is home to the mother of all chimpanzee research, the original research site of Jane Goodall. Take a trip to where it all began and visit Gombe Stream

Tanzania, like Uganda, is home to over a thousand bird species, including a number of endemics found in the Usumbara and Udzungwa Mountains.

Old style bush camping in comfort
Stay in one of the many bush camps, or for the more adventurous, go on a walking safari to areas far off the main tourist tracks.
When to go
The best time to visit Tanzania is the dry season between the rains, June thru to October. Of course, if you want to see the wildebeest migration, it is the beginning of August.
